June 27 to July 1, 2024. Prelude Part 1, Cran-Hill Ranch.

Our family has camped numerous times at Cran-Hill Ranch, our kids have gone to summer camp there, and 3 of our 4 kids have served on summer staff.  So it is a very special place for our family.
When the family reunion in the Upper Peninsula was planned, our son John and his family proposed that they and us spend a long weekend there on the way to the family reunion.  Then our daughter Laura planned to fly into O’Hare from Panama, so they picked her up there on their way to Michigan so she could come to Cran-Hill too.
We had a very enjoyable time there doing all sorts of activities, such as target sports, climbing tower, swimming, playing at the playgrounds and in the sand at the beach, long runs, bicycle rides, walks on the nature trail, pickleball, disc golf, tie dye and many more—and eating ice cream cones at the barn store! We also appreciated the chance to worship Sunday morning at the chapel in the pines, and having Jim’s sister Cathy stop by for a few hours for a visit.
