August 9 chased by fevers and yellow butterflies

We have spent the past 3 days visiting our son and family in Peoria and also saw our daughter and husband from St Louis. It was good to share some meals together and also communion at church. After spending time with both sets of grandkids in Wisconsin and in Peoria, we see again how challenging it is to raise kids who are very active and how brothers tend to pick on and tease one another almost nonstop but when you try to separate them they become all upset about being apart. Again it reminds us of the need to support and pray for parents of young children as busyness and challenges are many.
The "cotton candy" virus strikes again! One grandson had a sudden loss of energy and vomiting on Sunday, another had a fever on Monday. Amazingly we have stayed healthy.
We started off today on the next leg of our journey--at 2.5 mph for the first half mile! We walked alongside some of our grandsons to school and then headed out from there.
Today started out cool and we had pleasant temperatures and partly-cloudy skies--much more comfortable than the temperatures in the high 90's this past weekend! We did have a breeze in the wrong direction but it was mild enough not to bother us much. We passed over amazingly productive soil, mainly corn & soybeans but also a large pumpkin field near Morton, which is known as the Pumpkin Capital of the World because 85% of the world's canned pumpkin is packed in the Nestles/Libby's plant located there. Most of the route today was on very quiet back roads.
Kay saw a swarm of 15-20 yellow butterflies at an intersection; after that we noticed many, many along the route, flying alongside the road and over it, on the red clover, and even sitting on the road. Later we looked them up, they were yellow sulfurs. We saw a few of other species, too, but we could see a yellow one almost at any moment.
Agree we need to pray for parents - thank you for that reminder! Glad you were able to see the grandkids and spend some time - even walking them to school. Love all the details - makes us feel like we are with you!
