June 4, Saturday, Colville to Ione,Wa
It looked like it was going to rain heavily this morning so we were we decided to go to church with our hosts who are Seventh-Day Adventists who worship on Saturday. Since we practiced with them the previous night, they asked Kay to join in singing with their praise group. It was good to worship with fellow believers and sing songs of praise to our Lord (Church photo). We also found out that our hosts were very involved in trying to counteract homelessness, developing low-cost housing and trying to aid the disadvantaged in their community. It was supposed to rain less in the afternoon according to weather report. The first half of our 40 mile ride was a light drizzle but then after that it gradually rained harder and we had to bundle up more; we stopped and discovered hungry mosquitos. Jim discovered biking tights offer no protection to mosquitoes, by the time he got rain pants on, his hind end was itchy. He also brought 4 live mosquitos trapped in his rain pants to the motel! We were thankful for a restaurant that had chili and hot cocoa. We met Paul and Heather there (restaurant photo). Heather and her parents and grandparents had been living/vacationing on Lake Thomas since the 1930s.
So glad you were blessed by worship and continue to meet and impact so many wonderful people
